Award–winning Galway painter, film–maker and print–maker Jennifer Cunningham will open up her world of print and print–making on Culture Night in Galway City Library. Printing can appear the most hard to grasp of all visual art techniques. Jennifer Cunningham is an acknowledged expert in the media, and has shown her Printworks to acclaim internationally. Tonight she will take us through the techniques and skills; she will talk about her practice, her preparation for her upcoming show in the R.H.A and give a demonstration on various printmaking methods and show how you can create the perfect print. This is an illustrated talk, with lots of examples, for beginners, experts, and anyone with an interest in art and artists. The talk will complement ‘Artscapes’ the exhibition on display in the City Museum, featuring work by Jennifer’s talented pupils – showcasing and celebrating their hard work throughout the academic year – and Jenny herself.
The Mulberry String Quartet are based in the very musical town of Headford, Co. Galway. They are Sinéad St John and Nicole Hannon (violins 1 and 2), Rachel Browne (viola) and Doireann Kelly (cello). For Culture Night The Mulberries will be treating Galway City to their fabulous versions of much loved classics, with a few surprises too. The Mulberries will follow Jennifer’s talk.
