A reading and discussion by two exciting and emerging Irish writers Sara Baume and Maeve Mulrennan, whose primary degrees and foundational creative education emerges from their art college experiences. The reading takes place in the magnificent library, voted one of the top ten most beautiful in the world. The CCAM library is one of Galway’s hidden architectural gems and was designed by architects de Blacam & Meagher it is at the heart of the building.
Sara Baume is a fine art graduate and award winning writer. She won the 2014 Davy Byrne’s Short Story Award and her fiction, reviews and articles have been widely published. She studied fine art at Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design and completed the MPhil in creative writing at Trinity College Dublin.
Maeve Mulrennan has published articles and reviews in a wide range of visual arts journals. Her short fiction has been published in Wordlegs, the Galway Review and the Doire Press Chapbook Competition. She received a BA in Fine Art from Limerick School of Art and an MA Visual Art Practices from IADT Dun Laoghaire and most recently a Diploma in English Literature, German and Sociology & Politics from NUI Galway
